Let’s Dance 2012 brings the best dance from around the world to Leicester for a fortnight of performance, debate, conversation and participation with artists from the Caribbean, India, Spain, South Africa and the UK.
A special outdoor performance by Flawless launches the festival on Sunday 29 April, celebrating International Dance Day.
Other festival highlights include Arlene Phillips in conversation with Saira Khan and StopGAP presenting an integrated dance theatre piece about interactive TV.
From further afield comes L’Acadco’s Ruckumbine, marking the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence, Daksha Sheth Company’s latest offering Shiva Shakti starring Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani, Tres by Spanish company somoSQuien and a premiere of Storyville by Ballet Black, the Associate Company at the Royal Opera House.
Let’s Dance 2012 is a call to arms for dance lovers and a new light on the region’s festival landscape, produced by Serendipity UK.
