Night of Festivals 2012
21 - 23 June 2012, Old Market Square, Nottingham
Night of Festivals 2012 has been created by ArtReach as an exciting and imaginative outdoor arts event. Bringing together live music, spectacular carnival arts, digital projection, arts installations and moving image, the festival is a unique concept intended to engage the whole community and celebrate the values of freedom and independence through artistic innovation.
Night of Festivals 2012 has a focused hub in Nottingham’s Old Market Square with supporting activity also at Nottingham Contemporary and the New Art Exchange.
Particular highlights include a new commission from Mandinga Arts in Chimera, which will engage up to 100 local participants, music from Paraiso Samba (Rio de Janeiro) to celebrate London passing on the Olympic and Paralympic flame to Rio and the programming of a vibrant live music stage with a range of world music including a special Night of Festivals 2012 finale performance.
