The Loneliness of the Long Distance Diva

This unique choreo-poem by Carol Leeming tells a modern-day story of the strength and vulnerability of a Black diva who finds that all that glitters is indeed not gold, inspired by Alan Sillitoe’s seminal work, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Diva is an exciting, collaboratively produced, genre bending hybrid of spoken word and physical theatre, with sublime music and stunning digital visuals.

The production has been developed over two years for its special outing in 2012 by Dare to Diva, in association with Apples & Snakes, Curve, Phoenix Square and the Peepul Centre.
