Background
The East Midlands Development Agency has played a lead role on behalf of London 2012’s Nations and Regions Group in developing a nation-wide Business Opportunities Network. The network will allow businesses to access up to date information on the Games and signpost businesses to the support services in the region - Business Link.
The first development in the Business Opportunities Network is an electronic brokerage service service known as CompeteFor. This service will be in operation from early in 2008 and will allow businesses across the UK access the London 2012 supply chain.
To guide the East Midlands Development Agency's development of the regional business offer a group of regional business leaders has been established. The group advises on what needs to be done to enable the region’s businesses to benefit from the Games.

What Can I Do Now?
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) have recently launched their new e-tendering portal. Businesses are able to view current opportunities and also take part in the tendering process online.
Businesses who are interested in receiving the business opportunities as soon as they happen should sign up to the Business Centre’s e-alerts service which can be found at the website below.

East Midlands Strategy
We have recently completed a consultation exercise to develop a region wide strategy for maximising the benefits of the Games. We have thoroughly reviewed the comprehensive feedback received and this forms the basis of the East Midlands Strategy for the 2012 Games.
