Employment & Skills

« Back To Key Activity Areas

Background

The regional consultation exercise revealed a gap in the aspirations for the region around employment and skills. Employment and Skills is now an embedded theme which means all key activity leads are responsible for assessing the impact and opportunities fro skills development within their sector.

What is happening now?

The Employment, Skills and Productivity Partnership (esp) is undertaking a comprehensive piece of work to understand the skills opportunities from the Games for the region. The findings of this work will be published in 2008 and will feed into the work of each key activity area.

East Midlands Strategy

We have recently completed a consultation exercise to develop a region wide strategy for maximising the benefits of the Games. We have thoroughly reviewed the comprehensive feedback received and this forms the basis of the East Midlands Strategy for the 2012 Games.
