Regional Structure and
2012 Games Strategy

Throughout the summer of 2007 we released a consultation document on the direction we proposed to take the region towards during and after the 2012 Games We received an excellent response from individuals, organisations and interest groups across the region and their feedback forms the new strategy and revamped structure.

The East Midlands Management Board for the 2012 Games is responsible for the strategically directing the region’s activities. The group is made up of representatives from emda, Sport England, GOEM, East Midlands Tourism, Culture East Midlands, the Performance Action Group and a representative for the local authorities. The Delivery Group sits below the Management Board. This group is responsible for reporting regional progress to the Management Board, developing and implementing regional action plans and maintaining strong links between regional activity and the county groups. A representative of each key activity and embedded theme is represented on the group and ensures that opportunities for cross partnership working to develop opportunities are fully explored.
